you are correct. I just got back from the post office and the clerk tried postage both ways, rates as of today and rates as of monday and the difference was huge. Today, .80 cents, as of monday $1.37. I was told the reason was that they are trying to get customers to send smaller packages. The difference in prices are really based on size, not weight. WOW.
