At one time I thought the design was only intended to cancel or deface chips at Paul-son. However, when I was going through the shelves of stuff nobody wanted, I did see many boxes of solid color chips with this design. I can't recall whether there chips like these on display in the retail area though. This was in the store on Industrial Road, not the retail store that was moved to Las Vegas Blvd near Silver Slipper.

It seems to me, I've seen eBay lots with large quantites of what looked like the same hot-stamp chips, so I'd say they did create quantities of these for the home market.
