I met someone in my mothers neighborhood the other night that claims he ran an illegal casino in Jefferson Indiana for a man called "Dumpy" Clegg on the 2nd floor of "Cleggs Pool Hall". He said that he worked there for 5 years untill it was shut down. He said the place was open after the Kefauver hearings in the 50s. He said he didnt remember what the chips looked like but that he got them from the USPC in Ohio. He claimed the place had several tables including roulette, craps, and black jack. He said they got shut down after they were investigated. I dont remember who he said he was investigated by or why. He got Lightermans email so maybe he will contact him and tell more.
Anyone ever hear of this place?
