Dang, not much point in counting down the days until the Big Show in August, I'm going to be submerged in 31 straight days of work next month. When I wake from that coma, there's still two months to go. Sigh.
But anyway, I ran across this in a LV blog that gives us a sneak peek at what to expect when we bust out the front door at the Riv in Aug. http://www.vegasrex.com/ Scroll down to "Hanging Out On The Happening North Strip".
I see Steve Wynn is at it again. Remember '04 when he everything all torn up. Bobcats beeping, cyclone fencing by the mile, dust in the air, streets closed, 15,000 orange barricade barrels and opening day eliminations of a Dump Truck Rodeo? Rex shows a photo of Wynn Resort with more construction cranes this year although the middle one might be the one that just works on Steve's hair. Thought Steffner had Wynn in line on getting out of the way for our big chip thingie! Ah well... Looks like it might be a little dodgy for my Thurs. a.m. ritual of a 0600 breakfast at Peppermill and then on to busting Steve for enough to get another "N" value chip out of some dealer's binder later in the day.
Won't be too many moons before that whole area's gonna be a lot different. And a lot more expensive, hmmm? We'll likely be going woooooooooo at a yet to be determined convention site playing "Remember When..." The Splash Bar will have joined The Limo Studs in convention lore at that point. For you new folks, don't be a'scared of what you see on the Rex site, us chippers tend to create our own Las Vegas when we're in town! See you there.
