This is my son and daughter. Patrick started playing hockey when he was 6. Elizabeth started when she was 12. They both played through high school team (The Blue Dukes), which had both boys and girls and full checking. No such thing as a non-checking or girls team in High School.
Patrick stopped after high school when he chose girls over hockey (he's 23), and my daughter just finished her season this year in Homer, Alaska, where she has found a way to mix boys and hockey.
Season's over now in Homer, Alaska since it's too expensive in spring to freeze the ice, so no hockey for her until Fall. Elizabeth is 26 and plays wing. She scored the only goal for her team in their last game.
Growing up in Wisconsin is just like Canada, except you can understand us more easily.
