Upcoming Vegas Mob Book Gets Subpoenaed by the FBI

Las Vegas, NV—Culotta—The Life of a Chicago Criminal, Las Vegas Mobster and Government Witness, scheduled for a August 1 release by Las Vegas-based Huntington Press, is already attracting national attention.

This authorized biography chronicles Frank Culotta’s long life of crime, from his childhood on the streets of Chicago, where he met future Chicago Outfit enforcer and Las Vegas kingpin Tony Spilotro, through his days as Spilotro’s lieutenant in Sin City and on to his time as a cooperating government witness, providing testimony against all his criminal associates.

The book came to the attention of federal prosecutors as they prepared for the Operation Family Secrets trial scheduled to begin in Chicago on May 15. Numerous reputed Outfit members are being tried on various mob-related crimes, including the 1986 slayings of Tony and Michael Spilotro. The feds, who want to know if the book contains previously unknown information, have issued a subpoena to publisher Anthony Curtis to appear in federal court in Chicago on May 15.
