Getting there, although it's raining again now. Jen has to go to class tonight and what usually would be a 35 minute drive will be at least 1 1/2 hours one way. 4 of the 5 roads in / out of town are still closed. The National Guard was helping out in the center of town last night.
This is a photo we took at about 11am this morning. Last night the water was up to the white picket fence on the left. Normally the distance from the river to the bottom of the bridge is about 15'.
The photo below is of Thornton Road. The wash out farther up the road is really something. The soil / gravel is too loose for me to risk walking up. Normally I'd be yelling at the town to hurry up and fix it, but the highway guys have their hands full. Just staffing the road blocks (to prevent the Massachusetts transplant weinnies from trying to surf thru the water) is taking all their time.
