I've always used bubble mailers....

and never had a bit of trouble.

Maybe people remove the actually matches and just deal with the covers. Not me....I like them complete and intact.

When I have sent a large quantity of matches, I go a little overboard. Depending on the quantity, here's a couple of options.

For "a few", no problem, toss them into a bubble mailer.

for "Some", I lay the matches out on a piece of aluminum foil, and stacks them in an alternating fashion. What I mean by that is because of the shape of the matchbooks, they are thicker on one side. I alternated thin side thick side, thin side, thick, so that the stack stays even. You lay out the matchbooks and use the foil to keep the shape you want. The shape and size of the stack is determined by the size of the bubble mailer you are using.

A "Whole Bunch", you may now be forced into a box to ship them. With a box, I never worry about protecting them. I have done the stacking thing just to consolidate space.

You can also take a very small box and stack the matches in the alternating fashion (just like the way they come, and then put the box into a bubble mailer. They'll be safe and sound.
