The number of variables is surprisingly small, but actual control revolves around a couple of constants.
1. The dice need to be set
2. The throw needs to be slow and repeatedly hit softly and squarly at the edge of the diamonds, so as not to flip. This takes gazillions of practice shots, preferably on the same table you're planning on retiring on, AND having the muscle control to replicate the shot quite often. Like Tiger Woods. However, the dice DON"T need to slide all the way across the table, just the last 16th inch.
3. The pit crew needs to be asleep not to notice.
IMHO a control team won't last but a few minutes at any reputable place that accepts large enough bets to make it worthwhile.
