In the same way the has its rules governing the procedures for elections. They do not preclude non-US residents and cannot therefore fall within the same jurisdiction as your presidential elections, therefore apples & oranges
When you join the club, you agree to abide by those 'rules'.
The nomination forms for candidates, together with the relevant 'rules' regarding candidate acceptancy, were distributed to all members some 6 months ago. The exact procedure laid down at that time has been followed. I guess, as usual, nobody bothered to read it at the time. IMO its therefore too late to start questioning things now as far as this current election stands.
BTW, if proposed amendment 1 goes through, the club will NO LONGER be a US corporation based in NJ
