Last week I posted about this elongated cent. (Scan & link below. BTW, the auction wasn't mine.) A rare elongated from the 1901 Pan Am Expo. The bidding started at $48 and I thought it would go higher. It did. A lot. Final price was $209.49. I believe this is a record for an elongated cent at auction.
This isn't chip related, but I think it's interesting. Take a look at the Elongated sub-catagory, Coins / Exonumia, on . Hundreds of these things listed. Most with no bids, and no chance in hell of getting a bid. Gee, that's a lot of money for an elongated cent!
