Interesting story ... when Caesars came to town in June, 1979 as Atlantic City's second casino ... a whole year after Resorts International opened in May, '78 ... they didn't want their Caesars name on the building in case the "Atlantic City Experiment" (as it was then called) failed. So the official name of the casino was "Boardwalk Regency". It wasn't until several years later that the name was changed to "Caesars Boardwalk Regency" ... and then later, simply to "Caesars". The Caesars ashtray mentioned on ebay is a 3rd generation of name changes and no way has it been in an attic for even half the time the seller claims.
