I just did a quick check on ebay--there are currently 21 chips selling over $100 and another 10 or so that are within $20 of a $100. So, if thirty sell for $100 every seven days, that would be about 120 per month or 1800 over 15 months. That seems, at first, to be high but the data suggests otherwise.

None currently selling (or listed) over $1,000 and none listed above $1,000. I've paid $100+ a few times but never $1,000 so my experience and the data would suggest a small number, hence my estimate of less than one per month.
