Charles, Barry is correct, however....

It has been my experience that getting the autograph's will do nothing to improve the value of the chips.

This is because the celebrities have nothing special in relation to the casino. Autographs on chips are hard to do and are very often hard to read. (This means you'll probably need a label or other note as to who the signer was. I label the air-tite.)

Some have argued that getting an autograph is the same as damaging the chip, especially when the celebrity scribbles his/her autograph on that little piece of round clay with a bumpy surface. (Obviously, I've been there and done that.)

What has been suggested is to use white, blank chips. Or, a piece of paper that can be framed with a real chip. Or getting many copies of the flyers and having the celebrity sign the flyer. That way you have validation that the celebrity was present at the time and date of the event.

HOWEVER, if you decide to have them sign a chip, I suggest that you make it as easy as possible to get a good autograph.

Take a 12" x 12" (or so) piece of foam board and carve out a circle to insert the chip. Only cut into one side of the board and make it as deep as the thickness of the foam. This way you can insert a chip and it gives the signer something to grip (the board) rather than the little chip.

This is especially important with sports players where it is not uncommon that they have large hands. Also, I suggest that you attach the pen to the foam board. I can guarantee you, that if you just hand them a pen (especially a Sharpie!) it will get used for the next autograph and then the next and then you look like a petty jerk trying to get your pen back.

But even if you attach the pen to the board (with a string) I can still almost guarantee that you and the pen will get separated.

So, buy several!!!!

Have a great time!

Jim
