The past weekend, I met the president of the Canadian Numismatic Association and had a discussion with him about casino chip collecting. He was very surprised at some of the chip collecting information that we discussed, especially when it came to looking at the guide books and seeing that we are an organized bunch of folks, there are guides and chips may have some value... oh, and he loved my personal chip.

He had heard of the CCGTCC.

Following that discussion, my uncle (who is very involved in the CNA) got an email from the organizer of the CNA national convention this year asking if I would be willing to host a meeting at the national convention this year. The convention is in Niagara Falls, Ontario July 13th, 14th,and 15th.

They are willing to provide us with a room for a meeting. He wanted to know if we would be interested, who would chair the meeting, what a tentative agenda would be, would you have any draws or give aways as well as when we would want to hold the meeting. The discussion has been around increasing the interest in chip collecting and potentially getting a chapter established in Canada (or multiples since we are so geographically challenged up here).

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) I will not be able to attend the convention as I will be in Hawaii at that time.

If any of the current or future executive would be willing to attend, I would like to chat with you about it and explain a little more about the situation. There is some urgency as they are trying to put something together fairly soon. I am more than willing to do some of the front end work and coordinating the whole thing, I just can't be there - as much as I want to be.

Any help, suggestions or general advice would be very much appreciated.
