I have some health issues, and am without children or wife. So my parents and bother would be burdened with my collection. My Uncle is a collector, but very niche, and doesn't even have an interest in collecting. It is possible that somebody may wish to keep some or all of the chips, but it is far more likely that some or all of them will be disposed of.
I have discussed this possibility with a very dear friend, who has the capability to sell, auction, evaluate my collection and advise my family. He also has ties with the club, and could assess which chips may be good for the club collection if any.
I am fortunate, I know several folks who I could have reached out to, many like my friend, could handle all the issues. I have attached to my will, a letter with information and requests, and I have included this person's contact info. I would share the name, but I don't know if he would appreciate it.
In my case, my Dad is a recognized car expert, so what to do with classic car parts would be no problem for him. But it nevered occurred to him that my casino ashtrays weren't there to be used. He actually had taken one off the shelf, and while using it, asked me why a non smoker has so many ashtrays.
