Mark, I don't know the particulars about the Stardust implosion and fireworks show but I have a friend whose son works for a local "pyrotechnics" company that travels the country staging fireworks displays. Did you know that powdered calves milk will make one he11 of a fire ball? I didn't either until this past July 4th The fireworks displays are all timed and ignited by a computer program. The pyros execute a program on a laptop and sit back and enjoy the show.

Per the news reports I read today, the implosion was triggered off by "Bill Boyd's four grandsons who pushed a plunger to detonate the building." But I am fairly certain that the plunger just executes a program on a laptop which sets the individual blasts off at different times to control where the building falls. Probably ten years ago they imploded and old 17 story hotel bulding here in Wichita where I live. As the folks that witnessed last nights implosion and previous ones will probably tell you; WHAT A RUSH!
