I wrote the following to the vendor on eBay, who is obviously a coin dealer. I don't know what good it will do, but I don't want to give an incentive to slab. I really do believe it can destroy our hobby.
TO THE DEALER:
Although I am a collector of all Apache Hotel chips (SS Rex, Eldorado, and Horseshoe) I have decided not to bid on your items. My bidding would condone the practice of slabbing for the chip collecting hobby, which I, and the CCGTCC oppose.
If you remove the chips from the slabs I will bid on all 10 lots.
Should you wish to review the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club (over 7000 members and affiliated with the ANA) you may find it at:
Best Regards,
Were I to bid, that would give you an incentive to add an additional layer expense to your cost, which you must necessarily pass on to your customers. This 3rd party layer adds no value to the chip collector, it only lines the pockets of the grading service. Like most collectors I think that this practice could ruin our hobby, so will not support it in any way.

I doubt seriously if he'll take me up on it, but he might think twice about doing it next time. Right now he's got just 3 bids at $10 each for 10 lots of Horseshoe chips cataloging worth about $75 each.
