Think about all the negatives to a 2:30 AM implosion. Noise (most people are trying to sleep at that hour, even in a 24 hour city like Vegas), safety issues (trying to do things in the dark, controlling spectators ), no film/video coverage (I'll bet someone has a financial interest in this being viewed).

Also, it's the Stardust until implosion, it's Dust afterwards.
