Hi All.....My cousin will be staying at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas for 6 days in May on business. He asked me if I wanted to go with him. All I need to do is pay my airfare.....so of course, I am in!

I am looking for some intel. Every other time I have gone to Vegas, I have stayed on the strip and didn't venture out. I understand this hotel is in Henderson, about 15 or so miles away from the strip. I am a poker player, and I usually play 10-20 to 20-40 hold 'em. Are there good spots nearby to play? Good restaurants around the hotel? He is getting a rental, so what is the drive like to the strip? Anything local I should not miss?

Any advice, as always, is greatly appreciated.
