Hopefully that will cut down on the vandalism if they have to pay to paint the rocks and ruin a natural treasure.

Maybe I paid before and just forgot, because the day in Valley of Fire was so interesting.

ps I always tell people to take the long way out, which is not very much longer since you get back to the Interstate faster. But go through Overton, see the town, stop and get something to eat of drink and there's a nice little museum, run by volunteers.
