All of the auctions in the links below are for fake ivories. Fake ivories are defined as real elephant ivory that has recently been sliced, "carved" and, in some cases, colored. The "carving" has been done by a laser. Legitimate ivory designs were scanned into a laser machine.

I've seen at least a half dozen ivory collectors and maybe a dozen general collectors fooled by these fakes.

What a joke that some collectors see nothing wrong with this.

Btw, I've found 24 carved ivory lots on ebay. 20 are fakes. There is one lot of 5 chips I'm not sure of.
