My son and my daughter found themselves in a hockey game against eachother. At the time my son was playing Squirt B and my daughter was on a PeeWee girls team. For this game it was to be girls rules (no checking) and was supposed to be a friendly, non-league game.

On one shift they were playing directly against eachother. My daughter was playing defence and my son was on right wing. My son, Patrick crossed the red line with the puck, and my daughter was right there on him. He deked and shot the puck right between her legs and completely humiliated her as he turned, thumbed his nose, and then scored.

After the game they got in their respective lines to punch gloves and tell their opponents "good game". As they approached eachother, my wife said "isn't that cute?". I said "yeah, right!" as I could see the fire in her eyes.

As they progressed in the line my son, Patrick, went to high-five gloves, and my daughter, Elizabeth (EB) remembering being humiliated, hauled off and gave him a right hook to the jaw and knocked him flat on his butt. Then she thumbed her nose at HIM and continued on through the line congratulating the other opposing players.

Lesson Learned - Don't embarass your sibling, especially during a public hockey game.
