Rene sold many of these for $25, admitting that he wasn't sure of the location. We know that there are two yellow Thunderbird chips that were used in East Cape Girardeau, IL 1948-1965 but they were Taylor (T mold.) Robert Eisenstadt bought the Illinois chips from the former owner.
Ernie Wheelden has a Thunderbird, LV ashtray that has the identical base and bird. That is why we thought that it was probably a LV chip. Michael Knapp didn't buy that theory so he listed it in TGT as "unknown." Ernie & I figured that no one would get hurt by a (G) $25 TCR value. Perhaps we should have listed it as "Attributed to..." and will do so in the next edition.
I still see nothing wrong with thinking that the chip might have been used in LV unless someone starts selling them for double the normal value.
