I read through the cc>cc education on chip cleaning and there was no mention of using Rubbing Alcohol.
I clean most of my chips that I keep to get all that cigarette ash off (binion's chips are always the worst).
I found that 70% or 91% rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab has done the job pretty well for me in the past. I have, however, had a few chips that lost a little color in the cleaning (i.e. the cotton swab was pink after cleaning an older red chip). The whole chip didn't loose color, so I thought I removed some type of foreign oil that took some color with it. The sturdy chips get really clean with this method.
Any thoughts on why I shouldn't continue cleaning this way? Some of the tips were useful and I am thinking of modifying my method.
