It's not about being bold or smart or dumb. it's like not taking an umbrella in the rain and just hoping to stay dry. The umbrella may not keep you completely dry but doing nothing WILL get you wet. It's about the feeling of security that the news report preyed on with this story. I feel safe with my door open, because I know that I can replace anything if I need to. Like your life? As I said before I was robbed. I learned from it. Aparently not if you now take LESS precautions. I learned who I was and who i wanted to be. This story makes me laugh, because I feel safe and secure wthout locks I think you said "You can't buy feelings.
And just because my door is open, doesn't mean it's going to be easy! OHHH So you HAVE taken precautions??? You better come prepared, but if you are, hey, it's all yours. I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars to feel safe. You can't buy feelings. I am safe. And there's nothing in my house worth the risk. LIFE? If you can get the plasma off the wall without killing yourself, it's yours, because I damn near killed myself putting it up there. The crook make YOU take it down or he shoots your family. If you can find the rest of my goodies (which would be about meaningless to a crook - hard-drive, laptop, original copies of my books, etc) then take em. Everything that means anything to me is backed up in VA. I think you are set! OOPS you DO have to BE home when you are robbed or the plan won't work right?
STUFF is replaceable LIFE is not, there are no fool-proof ways of protecting your stuff, if someone wants it bad enough they will get it. Your job is to slow them down a little and give the cops time to get there. That is what makes the difference between a criminal IN jail and a criminal NOT in jail ... looking for MY HOUSE NEXT.
