And when they do something they shouldn't with their knife, they get a corner of the card torn off. When all 4 corners are gone, the card gets torn up and they have to earn it back by teaching a knife safety class to the younger scouts. At least that is the way it is done around these parts. My son is on card #3 I think. :)
