Yah, that was a pretty good group of clippings to pick up all at once, especially without having to spend any time in Peoria! I do have some other Peoria sources, like an old city directory, a great gambling book from the 1890s, and a couple of books about the Shelton gang.

The author you mentioned responded to my email, but he didn't have any copies of his book available, and wasn't really interested in the subject any more.
