Well my vacation in the sun and sand turned out to have no sand and very little sun. We decided on Monday nite to leave Tuesday morning for 3 comped nites at Harrahs in New Orleans. It wasn't an ideal situation but the price was right. Instead of spending $1600 or more on 2 plane tickets and a hotel somewhere we drove for 9 hours, got free rooms and I even won a few bucks at the tables. Weather was pretty icky most of the time - cold and rainy the first two days.

I even entered a BJ tournament at Treasure Chest but got bumped out both times on the second last hand with max bets out. Once I had an ace, 4 and doubled ending up with a very nice 19. Dealer hit 3 cards to get 21. Second time I hit a BJ only to have the dealer hit one also. They have a bad way to pick the winner of the tournamnet - after 8 first rounds the 4 players with the highest chip count win the prizes. You can even win all 4 if you have the highest scores. It was still fun to enter.

Harrahs in New Orleans is the only casino outside of AC where that I know of where they never have $5 tables. It just kills me to bet $10 per hand.
