For those who don't know, Von's dad, Van, was one of the most respected sports journalists in the country. He ran the sports departments in St. Petersburg, Orlando and Atlanta, among other cities, and was one of the founders of The National Sports Daily, a fantastic newspaper in the early 1990s.

I had the pleasure of meeting Van many years ago and met Von - without a doubt one of the nicest people in our hobby - for the first time earlier this month in Orlando. My deepest condolences go out to Von and his family.
