THe folks at The Palms have been having a hard time keeping a lid on the performers confirmed for their new concert venue The Pearl. First Evanescence leaked their March 17 date with Chevelle and Figner Eleven, and Gwen Stefani leaked her April 21 “Grand Opening” party show (a month after Evanescence plays, but what the heck, I’m sure it’ll be grand, if not an opening) before The Palms could issue their press releases on Tuesday. Then today, Tool announced a pair of shows on March 15 and 16 before The Palms could announce them.

Any music fan will have to agree these are some incredibly huge acts to be playing this intimate venue. And based on what I saw during my walkthrough a month or two ago, they won’t be disappointed – this place is going to be one of the finest concert venues in the country. A friend of mine who writes for Billboard got a more recent walkthrough from George Maloof yesterday, and she was just as impressed. I can’t wait to see Evanescence, Tool and Gwen there, along with whoever else they’re lining up.

Now the big question for Gene is -- can we expect
to see Tool, Evanescence and Gwen on chips?
