Coach Dungy not being an expert on Geography had suggested Fort Wayne. Which is about equal distance from both Indy and Chicago, but is in no way between them. It would be the equivelant of playing the game in Peoria.
If the game were to be played 'in between' the two cities, then that would be about Rensalear (sp?) and St Joe's College does have a football field. Not a lot of seats though.
I grew up in West Lafayette IN, home of the Boilers, and 9 out of 10 people were Bears fans. The Colts came to Indy while I was college age, and over the years the sphere of influence has expanded. the Lafayette area is now about 50/50 and except for an event like this game, it would probably remain that way. Whoever wins will probably dominate the hearts and minds for the next generation.
So I suggest they play the game there (yes it is right on the Interstate running from Indy to Chicago-and there is a stadium large enough to accomodate a Super Bowl size crowd).
ps- I am neither a Bears or Colts fan primarily (although I like both teams), I am a Steelers fan. I am trying to remain nuetral, but I am being pressured by friends who profess loyalty to both teams. I just want a good game to watch that goes to the bloody end.
