die cut or reverse die cut? 200 ivory chip auction

While die-cut and reverse die-cuts are inlaid (solid color inlay; the design is revealed by the silhouette effect of the inlay against the clay) , I always thought it best to reserve "crest and seals" for the litho inlays (printing on the inlay -- the design is printed, not seen by silhouette effect).

Jim Blanchard's site discusses this and has examples on this page (towards the middle of the page):

Is Jim correct what he says on that page about which is a die cut and which is reverse die-cut? I think I thought the opposite.

On these 7 chips (both sides are shown), the moose and the 1298 chips are crest and seal. I thought that the 50 and MC chips were die-cut, and the red chips were reverse die cut. Which is it?

Inlays in crest & seals were not made of paper.
Toxic celluloid??
Re: Toxic celluloid??
Celluloid test; same as for Bakelite.
There are also brass die-cuts
