True David.
I don't like it for a number of reasons. Since I don't only collect chips, sometimes I like to see other auctions and what other people are buying and selling. Now it's secret.
I went this morning to see how my firend is doing on his bid for a a camera. I can't even find the auction, because I know what model, but there are a dozen for sale. I can't look for bidders with his name anymore.
What does this do to BayCheck and view items being bid on by a user? I think it's dead?
Also beyond the shill bidding, you can see if someone is buying their own items and re-selling them on their other accounts. It's been known to happen when someone is trying to drive up prices. People who search for completed auctions will see inflated values.
Shills will love it. Fraudsters will welcome it. People like us who like to watch, will hate it.
