"... this thread reminds me of a story an acquaintance of mine told me. He was a site supervisor for a while for the new Foxwoods MGM expansion. The powers-that-be spec'ed out a location for an elevator, and he had a pit dug for it to install the necessary machinery. When the pit was done, they showed up with a ton of Foxwoods security and dumped rack upon rack of cancelled chips down into the pit, then backed a cement truck up and poured over it. Confused, my buddy asked "so there's no elevator going here?" They told him no. Funny thing is, he had already ordered and paid for the elevator equipement."
