Patrick; Wouldn't you prefer to have the information you are seeking come from the person who truly knows? The Club Treasurer?

I'm fairly certain, that the Building Fund monies are invested in an interest bearing account. Don't ask me what the annual yield is. That's something the Treasurer can answer ... and I'm sure he will ... if you pose the question to him on the club's message board or email him.
