Re: Hey coin collectors: Is this "Extra Fine"?

"Extra Fine" is a perfectly good grading term. Sometimes, however, what would be considered EF for one type of coin may not be the same for another type of coin. I.E., the grading of large cents in the early 1800's is less strict than that for the middle 1800's, owing mostly to the quality of the copper planchettes used to make them.

That being said, it is even harder to transfer a term from one area - U.S. coin collecting - to another - casino tokens.

The normal usage of the two items is different. Coins are used in commerce; casino tokens are plunked into a machine and dropped out again into a hopper so the opportunity for token to token damage (what might be called bag marks) is much greater.

From you pictures the small amount of wear on token would seem to qualify it as extra fine, but the many nicks from usage would seem to make it less desirable that one with the same amount of wear but fewer contact marks. IMHO, of course & I hope this helps you.
