Chuck; While I can't speak for the BOD ... and the BOD does not usually post on thechipboard ... I'm sure that contingency plans are being considered for alternate convention sites.
The club faced similar prospects when the old Aladdin's days were numbered. In fact my uncle Andy (rest his soul), who was one of the top insurance agents at Allstate at the time, told me privately that the club would never see our 1st convention get off the ground at the old Aladdin because the building was going to be torn down.
Following our successful conventions at Aladdin, and moving to Tropicana ... rumors began circulating about Tropicana facing the same fate ... which never happened.
I'm sure that no bridges were burned when the club left Orleans under very amicable conditions as a convention site because of our growth.
I personally don't see 4Q as a potential site for the future... but someone else will be making those decisions. Whatever is decided, I'll accept whatever is decided by those charged with checking such things out. At one time, several years ago, I recall the club was even considering holding our annual convention in an outdoor tent at Frontier's parking lot!
This club has come a long way. Sure Bellagio would be nice, but we can't afford the champagne taste that some members have on a Splashbar pocketbook.
