I'm not trying to stifle your expressing your ideas, Tom, but your comment about "book prices" being the reason people don't attend the convention is just wrong-headed.
I can speak only for "The Chip Rack," but the very reason the "book value," (not price) is what it is, is because the "book" reflects actual selling prices. If we find substantial numbers of chips selling at prices below the values we list, we lower those values in the next edition.
And yes, of course we consider eBay, Jackpot Auctions, and other online sales as well as dealer table show prices.
My point is, TCR doesn't SET prices, it reflects them.
