...and as Jim Follis suggested, there is not one shred of truth to the idea that the Hall of Fame Committee does not act completely independently of whatever the current Club Board of Directors might be. That's always the way it's been, and it remains so.

No ire, just fact.

Of the 18 members of the Hall of Fame, only one was a sitting officer when he was given the honor. Not only was his selection a surprise, but I can guarantee that no influence was exerted by that member or any other member of the Board of Directors.
