There will always be negative comments from others about less expensive hotel rooms vs. hotel rooms at more upscale properties. But when you allege that the reason a particular convention hotel site was selected over another potential site because the person(s) involved with making the decision received a comped hotel room simply is not factual.
No matter what hotel is selected as the club's convention site, there will always be comped hotel rooms involved for the organization's use, based on the total number of hotel rooms booked by convention attendees.
Now, if you simply don't like the Riviera accomodations ... that's a completely different matter.
