Jerry; The comped rooms the club officers get are not unique to the Riviera. The club received similar room perks at the old Aladdin, Tropicana, and Orleans during previous conventions held at those properties. I'm sure that no matter WHERE the convention is held ... there will be some form of hotel room compensation offered to the club based on the total number of hotel rooms that are booked. The rule of thumb formula at the time I was in office was one comped hotel room for every 50 hotel rooms that were booked ... which is why it is so important for club members to stay at the host hotel if it makes little difference where they choose to stay. I presume that a similar comped room formula is in effect at the Riv.
Yes, I understand that some folks prefer to stay at more upscale accomodations. Brenda and I are personally satisfied with the Riviera. We did have a problem with a room at Riv last year, but when it was brought to the attention of the hotel front desk they immediately switched us to another room that was very satisfactory.
