P-38 Lightening SMKEY Chip

Several of these blue Small Key poker chips were found recently in Oregon. I got 10 on eBay last week. The seller speculated they might have been used at a Naval Air Station in Astoria, OR during the war. I was unable to find any connection to Astoria on the WWW. However, I did find that there was a field near Bend, OR that was using for P-38 pilot training during WW-2. Here's the quote:

During this same period, the first official home of the Deschutes County Library was completed by local contractor Fred Van Metre on Wall Street in Bend. In 1941 Roberts Airfield was completed allowing flight travel in and out of Central Oregon for the first time. The field was further developed as a training base during WWII for P-38 and B-17 bombers and then given to the City of Redmond after the war.

I have several chips available for sale at $5 each, postage included.
