Hello Jodi,
I don’t take offence to your term whimp. In fact, it pales to some of the names I have been called on this board.
Moving along to your issue; I have had a number of instances where I have been taken advantage of, by a few rotten eBay sellers. I have reported the issues each time. I have also reported each scam email I get to thier "spoof" department as well as Safe Harbor.
have asked for eBay’s help each and every time and for them to intervene and assist in and with the problems.
eBay will offer Square Trade as a compromise. BTW, you don’t have to participate in the Square Trade offer to attempt a settlement. Therefore, a seller who has “ripped one off” will ignore the Square Trade email and let one just “POUND SAND”
How do we know eBay does nothing? I guess I can only respond that my issues over the years remain unresolved and eBay has not given up one dollar to satisfy or reduce my payment or exposure for merchandise that was not delivered nor delivered in the condition as described. Nor have and of the Fake Email Second Chance Offers been reduced. Again, I find more of them coming all the time.
If one is to use eBay, one should understand they are nothing more than a middleman with no obligation other than minimal security and privacy protection. They make no guarantees or representations as to Buyers, Sellers, or whomever. However, they do guarantee to make money for their shareholders.
