This set of chips was provided to me by Jason Forbes a participant on ChipTalk.net. The inlays have been laser engraved onto what are called Faux Clay (FC) chips in a dice mold. These FC chips are gaining a greater popularity amoung home game poker and tournament set people, but are usually hot-stamped.
Jason, who has access to a laser machine did some experimentation on various chips and has refined a process to custom engrave inlays onto FC chips based on a .jpg or .gif image.
His experimentation is documented in several articles he wrote for ChipTalk.net and are linked below the image. I highly recommend visiting the brief articles, as they full of images!
This chipset is called The Clover Tournament set. I have purposely kept the scan a bit on the large size, so that we can better see the lasered inlays which emulate the conventional inlay shapes, scallop, cog, hex and hub. Note also the two small embellishments above and below the denominations. Again, these are lasered. The ring around the inlay is not lasered.
Thank you Jason (aka: H4tfan).
