I sent an email to ebay ID "raould" asking how many of the Star Broiler $1 chips the seller had. I was sincerly interested as in the auction as it stated that there are less than 10 known to exist. I knew that their had recently been a "find" and thought that would seriously affect the value of the chip.
The return message I got from the seller was:
"How many do you have?"
This seemed very sketchy to me but I replied:
"I am confused here. I don't have any of this chip. how many of this chip do you own?"
I never heard from the seller again.
The reason I asked is because the seller said there were less than 10 in existance, but now he/she is refusing to say how many he/she has. I was trying to figure out if the "less than 10 known to exist" was before or after the "find". As things ended up the chip ended way out of my price range anyway but I would never have bid because I felt the seller was advertising the chip as "rare" but would not elaborate on how rare it actually was. I was even questioning if the seller actually owned the chip at all.
I don't know if you are "raould" or not, but that is not important to the point I am trying to make. I was not looking to see if I could "Screw" the seller I was trying to research a potential buy so I was not the one potentially getting "Screwed".
Now there is nothing wrong with trying to maximize profit as long as the seller is not misrepresenting the item.
