Loews Hotels is acquiring the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort . The property will become non-gaming and its casino will be closed at the end of the month. The property will be renamed Loews Lake Las Vegas.
The entrance of the New York-based Loews into Nevada will become official on Dec. 8 when the hotel chain takes over the 493-room property. The 8,000-square-foot casino will be closed around Nov. 27 or Nov. 28, according to Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas spokesperson Raquel Sanchez.
The Hyatt Lake Las Vegas, which is owned by Santa Barbara-based Transcontinental Corporation, will be purchased by Loews Hotels and a private investor. The undisclosed investor would have 75 percent ownership, while Loews would have 25 percent. Loews’ Director of Marketing Emily Kanders Goldfischer declined to say if the investor was a local or someone from out-of-state. Loews would not disclose the purchase price.
