I like the bowls, and would hate to see the bowl system ended, or undermined. The weeklong festivities culminating in a big game was a great college ritual, great for players, and alums.
However, the BCS system for determining the National Champion is a farce.
Michigan is at least a 7 pt fav over Floridaon any nuetral field in the country.
Boise State is undefeated, but will never even be seriously considered.
The big east proved to be a strong conference, but hurt their chances in the process. They were more fun to watch than the ACC, SEC, Big 12 or Pac 10.
There are problems with a football playoff, but imagine the possibilities:
Ohio State
Boise State
LSU
Louisville
Florida
Wisconsin
Michigan
Oklahoma
This is just one combination. All 4 would be attractive in their own way and the fans at Wake Forest, Notre Dame, and USC would all be pi$$ed at exclusion.
As it is, the Big Ten could end the season with 3 teams at the very top of the rankings. I hope Ohio State wins, they are clearly the top team. After that it just gets fugly.
