Granted, there's a slight learning curve to to software because it can do so much and has so many options available.

There are other Epson models you can get. This one is higher end and has the ability to sacan photo negatives, which for me is a must, since I did so much photography on film. I want to convert them to digital-when (if) I ever get time.
