The weave mold coming into play in the 50's is a most excellent argument. The only question then would be when did the Hollywood Club in Toledo close. If the Club closed prior to the weave mold, then its a slam-dunk, and would prove without a doubt that the chip couldn't possibly be from Toledo. I would be 100 percent convinced.
I don't know when the Hollywood Club in Toledo closed, although I'm sure there has to be something documenting that somewhere.
My stubborness is due only to the two small issues: 1. the font style and font layout, and 2. the inserts; 4 red that are the same thickness, color and position as the other small key Toledo chips.
So for me, the question would only be when did the Hollywood club close. That could put the whole thing to be for me.
You're absolutely right on chips selling better with an attribution. That's not an issue for me, as I not only don't have any of these for sale, but I don't even have this chip (yet)in my collection. Living in Toledo, I have it as a personal challenge to find one somewhere. I'll buy it as a last resort.
Don;t think I won;t be convinced....I may be a bit stubborn, but I'm very open minded. Ok...opened minded on most things except always splitting 8's playing blackjack.
